Click here to find out how, ya’ll!

1. How can I sign up for a membership?
There are three easy ways to join!

  • On the web: [ Purchase ]
  • Call on weekdays 9am-4pm at 214-428-5555 x 1451
  • In person at the membership desk in the lobby of the Science Building (1318 South Second Avenue)

2. When will I receive my membership cards?
10-14 business days after the purchase of the membership. On web purchases, please print your e-receipt which contains a Patron ID# and serves as a temporary membership card. For membership purchased at the box office, a temporary card will be issued at that time. Use your receipt or temporary card and your driver's license to get your tickets from the Museum's box office until your permanent card arrives.

3. Is my membership valid all calendar year?
Your membership will expire one year from the day it's purchased.

4.  What is the difference between a Family membership and a Family Plus Membership?
A Family membership covers two adults and all children or grandchildren in the family 17 years of age and under. A Family Plus membership covers three adults and all children and grandchildren in the family 17 years of age and under.

In addition, Family Plus members receive six passes to MNS Exhibition Halls, IMAX, and Planetarium passes, reciprocal admission benefits at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney, Texas, enrollment in the Kid's Club and a free subscription to Smithsonian Magazine.

5. Do my children need membership cards?
All children in the family 17 years of age and under are automatically covered under a Family membership and above.

6. Can a friend or family member use my membership card?
No. Memberships are nontransferable and are valid only for the person whose name appears on the card. This is why you must show a photo ID when you enter MNS. As a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on membership and attendance for support, we must prevent misuse of our membership cards. Otherwise, the loss of revenue would require us to raise prices.

7. Can I change the names on my membership?
Yes. Name change requests or change of address must be emailed to membership@natureandscience.org

8. What if I lose my member cards?
Email membership@natureandscience.org and note you have lost your cards and would like to have new cards issued. In the meantime, please present your driver's license at the Museum box office.

9. If I purchase a membership at the box office or online, when may I begin using it?
Immediately! Upon web purchase utilize the e-receipt, which contains a confirmation code as well as your membership ID number. If you purchase your membership at the box office, you will be given a temporary membership card at that time.

10. Is the membership good at other museums?
Your MNS membership card will grant you free general admission to more than 200 museums that participate in the Travel Passport Program (ASTC) Log on to www.astc.org for a complete list. ASTC participating museums within a 90 mile radius of MNS are not applicable for free admission.

11. At what level do I receive the benefit of reciprocal membership to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary?
Family Plus and above

12. What is the Kids Club?
Kids Club, a benefit for Family Plus level members and up, is a partnership between the Museum of Nature & Science, Dallas Arboretum, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Zoo and Trinity River Audubon Center.

Kids Club activities include invitations to five exclusive special events per year. There will be one event at each of the five participating institutions. All Kids Club events are craft-based events geared toward children between the ages of 2 and 10 years old. In addition, Kids Club members receive a discount on admission to the participating institutions at which they are not members. The discount each institution gives may vary, but will be at least $1.00 off the regular price of admission.

13. What is the Bailey Society?
The Bailey Society is a forum for young professionals who wish to learn more about the natural and man-made world and to socialize with others interested in the environment, science and technology.

14. How can I purchase a gift of membership?
You can purchase a Gift Membership via our online purchasing site. To purchase by telephone, please call 214.428.5555 x1461.
